In 1985, he graduated from the Faculty of Sanitary and Hygiene of Kharkiv Medical Institute with a degree in hygiene, sanitation, epidemiology and received a qualification of a hygienist.

In 1996, he defended his dissertation on the topic: "Ways to increase the efficiency of air disinfection by UV radiation in functional premises of medical and preventive institutions" for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences. In 2001, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Disinfectology and Prevention of Hospital-Acquired Infections.

From 2008 to the present, he has been working as an associate professor of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine at the School of Medicine of the Kharkiv National University.

He completed advanced training courses "Ukrainian language for professional purposes" at the Center for Postgraduate Education of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, on-the-job training in social medicine and health care organization and in hygiene of children and adolescents at the State Institution "Institute of Health Care for Children and Adolescents of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine".

He is the author and co-author of 73 scientific and educational works, including articles in professional journals, methodological developments for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and departmental organizations.

He has repeatedly participated in scientific and practical conferences, annual scientific conferences of students.

He is a member of the public organization "Ukrainian Public Health Association".
