Disciplines of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine

The Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine provides teaching of subjects in four educational programs of the School of Medicine, namely:

Educational program 222 "Medicine" (second master's level)

  • Social medicine, public health (4th and 6th courses)
  • Psychology of communication (1st year)
  • Conflict in a medical profession (1st year)
  • Fundamentals of a professional career formation in medicine (1st year)
  • Fundamentals of education in medicine

  • International systems of health care organization (2nd year)

  • Preventive nutrition (3rd year)

The subjects in Educational program 222 "Medicine" (second master's level) is taught in Ukrainian and English.

Educational program 225 "Medical Psychology" (second master's level):

  • Information technologies in psychology and medicine (1st year)

Educational program 221 "Dentistry" (second master's level):

Educational program 227 "Therapy and Rehabilitation" (first bachelor's level):

  • Correctional pedagogy (1st year)
  • Fundamentals of forming a professional career in medicine (1st year)
  • Hygiene and basis of ecology (1st year)

The department operates the Karazin School of Preventive Medicine and Healthcare Management, which provides in secondary medical specialization cycles and internships, invites healthcare professionals to attend CPD events with the award of CPD pointsaccording to the department's profile.

The Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine also provides teaching of the following subjects at the Faculty of Biology under the educational and professional program 014.05 "Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health)" (first bachelor's level):

  • Diagnostics and monitoring of health (3rd year)
  • Recreational and rehabilitation technologies (3rd year)
  • Modern methods and technologies of health preservation in educational institutions (4th year)

The department teaches the interfaculty elective course "Fundamentals of rational nutrition" for all specialties.
