According to the letter by the acting rector of Ivano-Frankivs’k National Medical University H. M. Erstenyuk 09.1.8-1811/8 from 04.05.2018 the 5th year students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University K. Romanovs’ka and D. Volkov demonstrated high level of theoretical and practical background while All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in Obstetrics and Gynecology and won 5th and 22nd rating places respectively among 34 participants. It allowed the School of Medicine to take 9th rating place among 16 higher medical educational institutions, students of which took part in the Olympiad.

On May 4, 2018 the instructor of the Department of General and Clinical Immunology and Allergology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, regional children’s immunologist, Candidate of Medicine, Associate Professor, Deputy Chief Doctor in polyclinic work of Kharkiv Regional Children’s Clinic №1 O. M. Savvo took part as an expert in a broadcast “Vidkrytyj dostup” (free access) at Kharkiv regional radio, where the project “Nash spil’nyj zaxyst” was under discussion in the course of the All-Ukrainian immunization week.

On April 24-26, 2018 at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the School of Medicine the XV- International Scientific Conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists "Actual Issues of Modern Medicine", dedicated to the 231st anniversary of the foundation and the 25th anniversary of the revival of the medical faculty of Kharkiv National University was held. More than 300 participants from Ukraine, Poland, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries.

On April 28-30, 2018 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the VI National Assembly of Medical Students, which was held on the basis of N. I. Pirogov Vinnitsa National Medical University. Among the representatives of the All-Ukrainian Youth Association of Medical Students at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the School of Medicine: local coordinator of the committee «Reproductive Health (HIV / AIDS)» (SCORA) Veronika Shepel and local coordinator of the committee «Human Rights and World» (SCORP) Tetiana Antusheva.

Over 1294 people from 128 countries took part in the ECCMID. The Congress had over 150 sessions with guest speakers covering all areas of infectious diseases and clinical microbiology, including eight major lectures, over 100 symposia, oral sessions and 22 workshops.

On April 19-20, 2018 a 3rd year student of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Yuliya Zhadan, took part in the work of the international scientific and practical conference "Modern theoretical and practical aspects of clinical medicine", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of S. I. Korkhov birth, which was held at Odessa National Medical University.

On April 18-20, 2018, on the basis of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy in Poltava it was held the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in the discipline “Histology, cytology and embryology”, where 2nd year students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Krazin Kharkiv National University took part, namely: Nelyapina Mariya, Shnejderman Sofiya and Hvozd Vladyslav.

On April 18-20, 2018, a Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Doctor of Biology Olena Myxajlivna Fedota took part in the work of the jury of the II stage of All-Ukrainian Olympiad for students of higher educational institutions of the III-IV accreditation level in the discipline "Biology" as the head of the jury in the section "Genetics" in Mykolayiv National Agrarian University according to paragraph 4.2 of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine from 06.12.2017 № 1572 "About holding the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in 2017/2018 academic year".

15th International scientific conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists “Topical Issues of Modern Medicine”, dedicated to the 231st anniversary of the foundation and the 25th anniversary of the revival of the medical faculty of Kharkiv National University will be held on April 25th-26th, 2018. Students and specialists from different countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, etc.) will attend the conference this year.

On April 18-20, 2018 on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University it was held a 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Students Olympiad in Clinical Immunology and Allergology. The participants from the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were Vladyslava Dovhan (6th year), Anastasiia Uzlova (5th year) and Kateryna Savvo (5th year). According to jury’s judgement Vladyslava Dovhan and Kateryna Savvo were awarded with diplomas for having creatively resolved tasks in the discipline.
