During two weeks the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University had been conducting a number of seminars with students of the 5th course of the English-language form of education. At the seminars the peculiarities of functioning and work of the sanitary and epidemiological service in modern conditions in Ukraine and other countries were considered.

The 5th year students of the English-speaking form of education gave a number of lectures for 8-11-form pupils in some Kharkiv schools in the course of learning appropriate topics of the discipline “Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare” at the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of V. On October 23-27, 2017 in V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University it was held a Gala Concert of the annual traditional University contest of creativeness for first-year students “Alma Mater”, where prize-winners of the competition were awarded. Over a period of one week first-year students of all faculties of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University had a chance to demonstrate their talents. The theme of current year’s contest was “Autumn Detective Story”.

On November 16-17, 2017 the instructors of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Doctor of Medicine, full professor S. O. Sherstyuk and assistant S. I. Panov took part in the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Prospects for the development of medical science and education", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the medical institute of Sumy State University. More than 250 scientists from the leading higher medical educational institutions of Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Lugansk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil and Mykolaiev took part in the conference.

On November 8-10, 2017 in Kharkiv, the instructors of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the II International Congress "Universal Scientific Education and Research Network" (USERN). At the congress the issues of medical reform and healthcare were discussed with the active participation of the instructors of the School of Medicine.

The instructors of the Department of General and Clinical Pathology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in organizing and carrying out of the yearly scientific-practical international conference (conference with foreign participants) “Topical Issues of Laboratory Medicine”, dedicated to the 65th anniversary оf the Medical Society of Laboratory Doctors of Kharkiv. The event was held on November 9-10, 2017 on the basis of University Clinic of Kharkiv National Medical University.

On November 5, 2017 on the basis of the Sports and Fencing Club "Unifekht" of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, there were competitions in mini-football on the initiative and with the support of the Dean of the School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine , full professor I. V. Belozorov. In the course of the competitions, 12 matches were played on the Dean's Cup of the School of Medicine, in which 4 teams of 1-4 courses of Ukrainian and English-speaking forms of education took part. At the tournament, the Dean of the School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor I. V. Belozorov, Associate Dean for International Students A. I. Gula, Associate Dean for Character Building of International Students, Candidate of Medicine, Associate professor K. A. Shamun, Student Dean, Head of Student Academic Council K. B. Romanovska, as well as instructors and students of different schools of the university were rooting for their favorites.
