On October 30, 2017, the European Medical Students' Association of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University carried out a series of events dedicated to the World Stroke Day, attended by instructors and students of the school. Four students from India, Iraq, Nigeria and Ukraine presented their reports on methods of stroke prevention, taking into account the recommendations of national health systems. The event was attended by instructors of the Department of Clinical Neurology, Psychiatry and Narcology, Candidate of Medicine, associate professor D. V. Lebedynets and assistant P. V. Lebedynets.

On October 26, 2017 at the entertainment complex "Misto" a traditional beauty contest "Miss first-year student of Karazin University 2017" took place, which was attended by 16 representatives of different schools of Karazin University. At the event 2 defiles were presented and an intellectual competition was held.

October 30, 2017, in the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held a social and medical action «Fighting Breast Cancer! Say Cancer «No», timed to the Ukrainian Breast cancer against day. During the action, everyone had the opportunity to learn the technique of self-examination, the causes and risk factors for the development of the disease.

On October 20-12, 2017 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Dmitry Kucheev (2nd year), Vitaly Goncharov (2nd year), Olexander Grebenyuk (2nd year) and Olexiy Luchko (5th year) took part in a two-day event “LVIV MEDICAL WEEKEND”. It was held at Danyl Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University.

Instructors of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the work of the III Congress of Sociological Association of Ukraine. The most important issues of our time, above all, concerning social differentiation and interaction under the given conditions were discussed at the congress.

On October 26, 2017, a conference of the labor collective of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was held. 193 delegates were selected for the conference (177 delegates were present, which is the quorum of the conference) from among the employees and students of the school in accordance with the quotas approved by the decision of the Academic Council of the School of Medicine. During the conference, a report on the state of academic, methodological, scientific and educational work in the 2016/2017 academic year and prospects for the development of the school in the 2017/2018 academic year of the Dean of the School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor I. V. Belozorov. Also the issues related to the election for the vacant posts of the heads of the newly created departments were considered: Doctor of Medicine, full professor T. S. On October 20-21, 2017 an exchange visit of 2nd and 3rd year students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was made to the educational and research center "Institute of Biology and Medicine" (Department of Medicine) of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv under the supervision of a senior instructor of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology R. F. Zabrodskyy and associate professor of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology O. V. Naglova.

At the the contest "Prayers for Ukraine" at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, the students of the School of Medicine were awarded with IBM certificates for the perfect study of IBM Watson Analytics for the statistical processing and analysis of medical information. The IBM Academic Initiative is an international program of IBM's cooperation with educational institutions that train specialists in the field of innovative technologies, including the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

On October 18, 2017, the students of the European Medical Student Association (EMSA) of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University organized and carried out the series of lectures for children of boarding school № 55 (Kharkiv). The series of lectures was devoted to the formation of healthy life skills among children. The students conducted lectures in a playful form, which enabled them to convey information to the children and interest the listeners, as well as to develop the oratorical skills of students who carried out the lectures.The event was attended by students of the School of Medicine of different courses: Kateryna Yeskova, Iryna Oliinyk, Veronika Shepel and Abdel Wahhab Othman.

On October 18, 2017 students and instructors of the School of Medicine took part in the contest "Prayers for Ukraine" (words of O. Y. Konisky, music of M. V. Lysenko), which was organized at Svobody Square in front of the Northern Building of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Participation in the performance of the country's spiritual hymn, music to which was written by the famous student of the University M.V. Lysenko, was accepted by more than 4500 students and instructors of the University, which allowed to include this event in the "Book of Records of Ukraine".
