On January 17, 2018, the Academic Board of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University decided to nominate the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor M. I. for awarding of the honorary title "Merited Professor of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University". During the meeting of the Academic Board , the Head of the Department of General and Clinical Immunology and Allergology, Doctor of Medicine, full professor M. M. Popov, the Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Doctor of Medicine, full professor Y. D. Khvorostov, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Doctor of Medicine, full professor V. H. Chernuskyi said kind words about brotherly friendship and successful work together with Mykola Ivanovych.

In November, 2017 the Graduate of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Adzhay Eniola Rut had successfully passed the exams and entered the Magistracy of the American High School, University of North Texas to the program «Masters of Health Administration».

On December 28, 2017 the active students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin National University organized and presented the “New Year Film” and the special New Year event! While it students had an opportunity to take a feast photo at the thematic places, leave their wishes on the “Wishes Christmas Tree”, enjoy the Christmas Comedy, participate in contests and get exclusive prizes from the Students Council of the University.

On December 25, 2017 the charity organization of the Student Council of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University led by the students of the School of Medicine, visited children of the CE “Kharkiv Regional Center of Social and Psychological Help "Nadiya”. New Year holidays are always a joy for children and adults, but what about those children who do not have parents and Santa Claus will not bring them gifts for Christmas? It was these children that volunteers visited to give them their warmth and share with them a piece of happiness. From the not indifferent students of the University, children were given toys, educational games, sweet gifts and some essential things.

On December 22, 2017 in the Scientists’ House it was held a New Year Exhibition, organized by the Regional Trade Union of Education and Science of Ukraine. The exhibition was attended by employees of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University: Deputy Dean for Economic Affairs I. M.Tyagun and Inspector of the Dean's Department A. V. Kremen’. According to the results of the jury's assessments in the nomination "The best New Year's panel", A.V. Kremen's work won the 3rd prize.

In this academic year a new direction of the circle was opened, this is work with foreign students of the English-language cycle. So, on the basis of this circle, a series of scientific seminars.

On December 21, 2017 on the basis of the Department of General Practice – Family Medicine of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University it was held the students scientific conference «Present-day trends in the treatment and diagnosis of socially significant diseases» supported by the Students Scientific Society and Ukrainian-African Academic Center.

On December 15, 2017 in the Column Hall of the Northern Corps of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University supported by Students Council of the University it was held the annual University Charity Winter Ball. The main aim of the event was collecting means for buying equipment for PI “Institute of Child and Adolescent Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”. The event was visited by the rector of the University V. S. Bakirov, the director of PI “Institute of Child and Adolescent Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” H. M. Danilenko, deans and vice-deans of schools, etc.

On December 8, 2017 the students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University came to A. I. Meshchaninov Kharkiv City Emergency Hospital as blood-donors. In the course of the event it was collected more than 5 liters of blood for Surgery Department of the hospital.
