On April 18-20, 2018, on the basis of Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy in Poltava it was held the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in the discipline “Histology, cytology and embryology”, where 2nd year students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Krazin Kharkiv National University took part, namely: Nelyapina Mariya, Shnejderman Sofiya and Hvozd Vladyslav.

On April 18-20, 2018, a Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Doctor of Biology Olena Myxajlivna Fedota took part in the work of the jury of the II stage of All-Ukrainian Olympiad for students of higher educational institutions of the III-IV accreditation level in the discipline "Biology" as the head of the jury in the section "Genetics" in Mykolayiv National Agrarian University according to paragraph 4.2 of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine from 06.12.2017 № 1572 "About holding the All-Ukrainian Students’ Olympiad in 2017/2018 academic year".

15th International scientific conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists “Topical Issues of Modern Medicine”, dedicated to the 231st anniversary of the foundation and the 25th anniversary of the revival of the medical faculty of Kharkiv National University will be held on April 25th-26th, 2018. Students and specialists from different countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, etc.) will attend the conference this year.

On April 18-20, 2018 on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University it was held a 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Students Olympiad in Clinical Immunology and Allergology. The participants from the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were Vladyslava Dovhan (6th year), Anastasiia Uzlova (5th year) and Kateryna Savvo (5th year). According to jury’s judgement Vladyslava Dovhan and Kateryna Savvo were awarded with diplomas for having creatively resolved tasks in the discipline.

On April 16-18, 2018 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Medical Genetics which was held on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University.The format of the Olympiad included the analysis of karyotypes of patients with hereditary diseases and the solution of interesting genetic problems. The jury of the Olympiad included experienced geneticists, instructors of medical educational institutions, heads of scientific and practical circles and chief doctors of genetic clinics.

On April 17, 2018 a regular meeting of the student scientific circle of the Department of General and Clinical Pathology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took place. The first year student of the School of Medicine Mykyta Yeletskyi made a report "Types of cardiomyopathies".

On April 10, 2018, the Department of General Practice - Family Medicine of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held the 5th Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Sports Medicine and Physical Rehabilitation: Modern Aspects". The Dean of the School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor I. V. Belozerov and the head of the Department of General Practice - Family Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor Y. Y. Nikolenko opened the conference, welcomed the participants and presented the diplomas.

On April 13, 2018 at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University a campaign “See the World with Your Own Eyes”, dedicated to healthy eyesight, was held. The event was organized in the framework of the university program "Student Health" by the representatives of the Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME), Standing Committee on Public health (SCORP) of the local representation of the Ukrainian Medical Student Association (UMSA) at the Karazin University with the support of the Trade Union of Students of Karazin University.

On March 29, 2018 the III Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists with International Participation "Problems of the present time in pediatrics" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine was held on the basis of the State Institution "The Institute for the Protection of Children's and Adolescents' Health of the NAMS of Ukraine". The School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was acted as a co-organizer of the conference. The presidium of the conference was headed by the director of the State Institution "The Institute for the Protection of Children's and Adolescents' Health of the NAMS of Ukraine", the head of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of V.
