On May 19, 2017 on the basis of Odessa National Medical University the II round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad on Physiology was held. Participation in the event was attended by 34 students of 1-3 courses of higher medical educational institutions from all over Ukraine. The Olympiad consisted of two stages: test and written work. The School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was represented by second-year students Anastasia Lovchykova and Svitlana Solodovychenko.

The student of the 2nd year of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Tayisiya Sazonova took part in the IV All-Ukrainian scientific conference of students and young scientists on physiology with international participation "Physiology – medicine, pharmacy and pedagogy: actual problems and modern achievements", which was held on May 16, 2017 on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University.

On May 22, 2017 the first stage of the student scientific-practical conference "Perspectives and modern tendencies in the development of modern virology" was completed, during which a distance assessment of the poster presentations of the conference participants by the jury was held. Participation in the first stage of the conference was attended by 26 students of 2-5 courses of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The jury consisted of 6 teachers of the Department of General and Clinical Immunology and Allergology of the School of Medicine headed by the Head of the department, Doctor of Medicine, full professor M. M. Popov. Assessment of poster presentations delivered to the providers of the conference was carried out according to five criteria independently by all members of the jury.

On 25-27 April 2017 the II stage of the All-Ukrainian student competition in German language for students of non-linguistic specialties was held on the basis of National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. 5-year student Vladyslava Dovhan presented the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the competition. She demonstrated a high level of German language knowledge and took the first place.

On May 17, 2017 the final stage of the Student Volleyball League among the men's teams of higher educational institutions of Kharkiv took place. Students of the School of Medicine Dmytro Rudenko (group VI-202) and Kyrylo Bohdanov (group VI-207) were members of the national team of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. As a result of the competition, the team of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University won the competition taking first place.

On May 16, 2017 in the karaoke hall of the cultural and entertainment center "Misto" the second selection round of the annual vocal contest "Karazina Karaoke Kings" was held, which is supported by the Student Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. According to the results of the second qualifying round, one of the finalists was a student of the 4th course of the School of Medicine Alyna Akymova, who performed two songs of a different genre and superbly demonstrated her vocal abilities. She was awarded with memorable gifts from the Student Academic Council.

On May 18, 2017 in the cultural and entertainment center "Misto" bowling tournament "Trade Union Bowl III" took place among the teams of higher educational institutions in Kharkiv. The tournament was organized and held with the support of Kharkiv regional organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.

The Center for International Cooperation of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University invites students of the School of Medicine to join the exchange program, during which students will have the opportunity for 2 or 3 weeks to undergo summer practice in the best clinics in Poland. Practice of the program is included in the curriculum of students of the School of Medicine. After the end of the practice, students will receive diplomas of international medical practice.

On May 16, 2017 at the initiative of the Dean of the School of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, full professor I. V. Belozerov with the support of the Primary Trade Union Organization of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University the bowling competitions among students of the School of Medicine took place.
