On April 24-26, 2017 at the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology of Kharkiv National Medical University the 2nd round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad on "Psychiatry and Narcology" and "Medical Psychology" was held. In the section "Psychiatry and Narcology" 29 students took part, including 3 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University: student of the 6th year Inesa Y. Samodayeva, students of the 5th year Ol'ha Y. Chayka and Ilona Vasylivna Hrytsenko; And in the section "Medical Psychology" - 27 students, including 2 students of the 4th year of the School of Medicine: Anna-Mariya Volodymyrivna Petryk and Kateryna Oleksiyivna Hubaryeva.

Students of the 2nd year of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Tayisiya Sazonova and Yuliya Zhadan took part in the scientific-practical conference with international participation "Modern theoretical and practical aspects of clinical medicine", which was held on April 27-28, 2017 on the basis of Odessa National Medical University. Our students made oral presentations in the multidisciplinary English-speaking section and the section of morphological sciences.

April 24, 2017 in Kharkiv, the international scientific and practical conference "Life after myocardial infarction - how to prolong life, reducing heart failure and sudden cardiac death in patients after a previous myocardial infarction”, organized by the Department of Cardiac Surgery and Emergency Cardiology of the Multiprofile Surgical Clinic of State Organization "Institute of General and Urgent Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine". The speakers of the conference were professors Y. Kautsner (Prague, Czech Republic), M. Chudzik (Lodz, Poland), M. Sokolov (Kiev, Ukraine), K. Rudenko (Kiev, Ukraine), Y. Karpenko (Odessa, Ukraine), V. Tseluyko (Kharkov, Ukraine).

On April 25, 2017 students of the School of Medicine from Africa with the support of the Ukrainian-African Academic Center of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University visited the Regional Children's Psychoneurological Sanatorium №1, in which there are orphaned children deprived of parental care, children from disadvantaged families and children with diseases of the central nervous system aged from 4 to 17 years.

Students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Mark Chuyko and Artem Serbenyuk successfully performed at the University-wide competitions in athletic snatch, which took place on April 29, 2017 on the basis of Unifekht Sports and Fencing Club. During this competitions students competed in the bench pressing and pulling up on the crossbar.

On April 27, 2017 the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held the round table with international participation "Early detection of suicidal tendencies in children and adolescents and methods of their correction". Specialists from different regions of Ukraine took part in the event. The meeting was opened by the Vice-President for Research and Teaching, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, full professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Merited Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine M. O. Azaryenkov. He emphasized the importance of such round tables as the platforms to share experiences and noted that the first steps of Ukrainian psychiatry were done in the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

On April 28-29, 2017 on the basis of Karachev emergency substation competitions took place between the emergency teams of medico-prophylactic institutions and medical higher educational establishments of Kharkiv region to provide emergency and urgent medical services during “The Open Championship of Kharkiv Region”. The team of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University composed of instructors of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy B. V. Hil'ov and V. Y. Mehera and students D. S. Hrechanyk (VI-509) and Y. O. Kul'huskina (VI-314) with the support of Kharkiv regional organization of the International Committee of the Red Cross of Ukraine took part in competitions.

On April 26-28, 2017 the II stage of the All-Ukrainian student olympiad on obstetrics and gynecology was held on the basis of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University. Participation in the event was accepted by students of 4-6 courses of all medical higher educational institutions of Ukraine, of which representatives of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were only students of the 4th year. They were awarded with diplomas for courage and author's manuals on obstetrics and gynecology.

Students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Anna Nazarenko (3 year) Valeriya Sakhno (2 year) as part of the university team took the 2-nd place in the streetball competition (3 х 3) of the regional stage of interuniversity competitions. The competitions were held on April 28, 2017 on the open sports ground of the Integrated Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 13 (Kharkiv). The girls demonstrated high skills and a strong team spirit, losing in the finals to the national team of Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture.

On April 26, 2017 international students from Africa studying at the School of Medicine, on their own initiative with the support of the Ukrainian-African Academic Center of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, organized and conducted the action "Gratitude to the City", during which work on the improvement of the territory of the Botanical Garden of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University were held. During the action the students carried out works on the improvement of the territory of the Botanical Garden, cleaning, digging of flowerbeds, planting flowers, etc.
