On March 30-31, 2017 at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University at the School of Medicine the XIV International Scientific Conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists "Actual Issues of Modern Medicine" was held. The conference was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy and the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, Neurology and Medical Psychology of the School of Medicine with the participation of the Hospital complex "Medipol Mega" (Medipol Mega Üniversite Hastanesi) at the Istanbul University "Medipol" and more than 300 participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Latvia and other countries.

In response to the proposal of the President of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University V. S. Bakirov, students and staff of the School of Medicine carried out the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 31.03.2010 № 777-r and the order of the head of the regional state administration dated 11.03.2016 № 75. They took an active part in the All-Ukrainian Day of Improvement headed by the President of the University V. S. Bakirov, which was held on 08.04.2017.

The male team of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University: Jitendra Chowdary (VI-433), Кarthikeyan Shiva Shankar (VI-607), Varadharaghavan Vanothkumar (VI-305) and Venkata Narayanan (VI-105) - took 1st place in badminton competitions, which were held during the 67th Student Spartakiad of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

On March 22, 2017 during the scientific and educational project "Intellect networking", the lecturer of the Department of General and Clinical Pathology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Candidate of Biology, Associate Professor V. I. Padalko held an open lecture on "Fundamentals of human embryonic development". The open lectures of V. I. Padalko, devoted to the problems of ontogeny and aging of the human body, are always very popular and are attended by hundreds of listeners.

On March 22-23, 2017 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University E. Tsubanova and V. Kucherenko took part in the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Pharmacology, which was held at the National Pharmaceutical University (Kharkiv).

Karazin Kharkiv National University (Committee of Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS (SCORA)) held an action «To support the children of the sun», dedicated to World Down Syndrome Day. The event was held in the framework of the university program «Students’ Health».
