Head of the Department of Pediatrics

The Doctor of Medicine, Full Professor Viacheslav H. Chernuskyi is Head of the Department of Pediatrics; he is well-known expert in Ukraine and abroad in the field of Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Allergology and Immunology.

In 1979, Viacheslav H. Chernuskyi graduated from Kharkiv National Medical Institute, speciality "Pediatrics". From 1981 till 1997 he worked as assistant of the Department of Pediatrics of Kharkiv National Medical Institute, and from 1997 till 2008 - associate professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Childhood Diseases of Kharkiv National Medical University. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as associate professor of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Since 2013, Viacheslav H. Chernuskyiserved as professor and since October 2016, he is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

In 1988 Viacheslav H. Chernuskyi defended his thesis on "Clinical and immunological indexes and their differential diagnostic value in non-rheumatic lesions of the myocardium" for the academic degree of Candidate of Medicine on the specialty 14.01.10 "Pediatrics". In 1999, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Childhood Diseases, and in 2001 - the highest qualification category in the specialty "Pediatrics". In 2012, Viacheslav H. Chernuskyi defended his thesis on "Characteristics of the clinical and immunological and infectious factors for bronchial asthma among children" for the degree of Doctor of Medicine in specialty 14.03.08 "Immunology and Allergology" and in 2014, he was awarded the academic title of full professor of the Department of Pediatrics.

Viacheslav H. Chernuskyihas active pedagogical career, sharing his experience and knowledge with the students of the School of Medicine: gives lectures on "Propedeutics of Pediatrics" discipline and carries outpractical lessons on discipline "Pediatrics with children's infectious diseases"and clinical analytical sessions of patients together with the staff of the Department and students.

Viacheslav H. Chernuskyi is a member of the Dissertation Board D 64.618.01 at the State Institution "I. I. Mechnikov Institute of Microbiology and Immunology of NAMS of Ukraine» and a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Annals of the Mechnikov Institute". He is the author of 5 textbooks, 3 monographies, 39 training manuals and methodological recommendations, 78 articles in domestic professional publications and 19 patents.

Theoretical, Experimental and Clinical Pulmonology, Allergology and Immunology; mechanisms of the bronchial asthma formation among children and adolescents; new methods of diagnostics and treatment in pulmonology are the sphere of scientific and professional interests of Viacheslav H. Chernuskyiat the present stage of his activity.
