Head of the Department of Cardiology, Laboratory and Functional Diagnostics, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Full Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, professional member of the European Society of Cardiology, Board Member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Cardiologists of Ukraine, Chairman of the Kharkiv Organization of the All-Ukrainian Association of Cardiology of Ukraine, Honorary Doctor of V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University, Vira Yosypivna Tseluyko.
The International Academy for the Protection of Human Rights awarded the head of the department Professor Tseluyko V.Y. Honorable mention for the protection of human rights, as well as the Diploma for patriotism, a conscious public position, aimed at asserting the sovereignty of Ukraine, high professionalism, carelessness, dedication to one's work, protection of human rights and freedoms, and on the occasion of the International Day of Peace.
Vira Yosypivna was awarded the M.D. Strazhesko Medal of "Merit in Health Care", numerous diplomas of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, diplomas of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Academy of Medical Sciences, was awarded the “Medics Triumph” award in the nomination “The most active local organizer of the Distance Learning project”.
In 1980, after graduating from the Kharkov Medical Institute, she was recommended by the Scientific Council of the Institute for scientific work, that was begun under the guidance of Academician L.T. Malaya. Vira Yosipivna went through all the stages of scientist formation - from a laboratory assistant with a higher education to a leading researcher and head of the department of atherosclerosis genetics. In 1985 she defended her Ph.D. thesis in cardiology on the topic "Prostanoids of blood plasma in the dynamics of lipid-lowering therapy in patients with coronary atherosclerosis", and in 1994 - her doctoral thesis in two specialties "Cardiology" and "Genetics" on the topic "Clinical-anamnestic and genetic aspects of coronary heart disease in young people".
In 2000 Vira Tseluyko was awarded the academic title of Full Professor and from the same year she headed the Department of Cardiology and Functional Diagnostics. The fellowship abroad (USA, 2001), participation in European, American and World Cardiological Congresses and Conferences were of great importance for the growth of her scientific potential. The first report of Professor V.Y. Tseluyko was back in 1997 at the European Congress of Atherosclerosis in Paris.
In collaboration with scientists from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics and the Institute of Gerontology, Vira Yosypivna began molecular genetic research in cardiologyfor the first time in Ukraine, the results of these studies were noted by the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine as the best research work of the five years. In addition, Vira Yosypivna has always worked closely with scientists from the M.D. Strazhesko Institute of Cardiology, M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Under the guidance of prof. V.Y. Tseluyko 4 doctoral and 35 candidate dissertations have been completed. Author of 8 monographs, "Handbook of a Cardiologist" (4 reprints), "Lectures on Clinical Cardiology" (2 editions), more than 600 articles in various journals.
About 500 doctors from different regions of Ukraine undergo training during the year at the department headed by the professor. More than 100 foreign clinical residents and postgraduates from 21 countries of the world have studied at the department.
Professor V.Y. Tseluyko is a well-known scientist in Ukraine and in the world. First Ukrainian registries of patients with myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy and pulmonary embolism were created under her leadership, centers for the diagnosis and treatment of secondary arterial hypertension and the rehabilitation of cardiac patients after surgical treatment were organized.
