Educational work of the Department of Normal Morphology

Educational work is one of the department's priority areas of activity. The department provides instruction in core and elective courses, delivered in both Ukrainian and English. The total volume of educational work amounts to 6,750 academic hours, comprising lecture courses, practical sessions, and seminars.

Student instruction at the department is conducted in accordance with the recommendations of standard course curricula approved by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and further refined by the department’s faculty within established regulatory guidelines.

The educational process at the department incorporates modern multimedia and computer equipment, as well as an extensive range of visual aids—including anatomical specimens, artificial organ models, and educational films. Furthermore, innovative pedagogical approaches are employed, such as online consultations for students, discussions via voice and text chat, and remote monitoring of student preparation for the KROK licensing examination.

Practical classes utilize morphological specimens, allowing students to gain their initial clinical and practical experience from the very early stages of their training.

During the educational process, special attention is devoted to preparing students for the KROK-1 licensing examination. This preparation involves analyzing test items from all available databases and question banks; utilizing software specifically developed for the Faculty of Medicine, computer labs, and multimedia equipment; employing online systems for distance learning and knowledge assessment; and providing both in-person and online consultations with faculty members regarding KROK preparation. This support is integrated throughout the entire duration of the course, with the testing workload distributed evenly among the students.

The effectiveness of student preparation for the KROK examination in the disciplines taught by the department is confirmed by exam results, which consistently place the Faculty of Medicine among the top-ranked medical higher education institutions in Ukraine.

In the course of academic activities, faculty members select and prepare top-performing students to participate in All-Ukrainian Olympiads, competitions, conferences, congresses, and similar events related to specific subjects. Students from the Faculty of Medicine consistently secure top rankings at these events, receiving recognition in the form of certificates of merit, letters of appreciation, participation certificates, awards and etс.
