On March 17, 2023, on the basis of the School of Medicine, using simulation learning technologies, the training "Emergencies: provision of first aid at the scene of events" was held for students and employees of Karazin University without a higher medical and pharmaceutical education.
Training participants had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and practice skills necessary to stop critical bleeding (tourniquet application, wound tamponade, compression bandage application); basic life support (assessment of a person's condition, consciousness, performing chest compressions, performing artificial lung ventilation, using an AED, helping a person who has suffocated), etc.
The developer and teacher of the course is the Associate Dean for scientific work of the School of Medicine, Associate Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Candidate of Medicine, Associate Professor, MD, anesthesiologist Maria MATVYEENKO.
