Students of the science club of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine gave a speech to schoolchildren of gymnasium N 14

It is no news that the problem of alcoholism, tobacco smoking and drug addiction is a widespread phenomenon not only among adults, but also among schoolchildren. Therefore, it is very important to timely and convincingly convey information to children, tell it not only by scientific facts, but in a way that is understandable and interesting for their age.

Students of the scientific circle of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, on November 13, 2019, together with the non-profit foundation "For a World Without Drugs", held an educational seminar for students of Kharkov gymnasium N 14. On the topic was of preventing bad habits and preventing addiction. The seminar was opened by Georgy M. Danilenko, Head of the Research Institute for the Health of Children and Adolescents, Doctor of Medicine, Full Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine. Then, student Mohammed Mohammed made a report on the prevention of alcohol addiction, and students Abd El Hay Hala and Anjali Tamrakan told students about the negative effects of drugs and smoking on the human body. Information was presented in the form of a vivid presentation.

Schoolchildren were very interested in the speeches of doctors who spoke with them in modern language, but proved the facts as doctors. The conversation took place in a lively discussion format. The leadership of the educational institution was very grateful for the initiative of the students of our university, and the students asked to come with such interesting and relevant topics for our time. All participants in this seminar gained extensive experience in the communication and interaction of physicians and society. Students of the scientific circle have plans for the future to continue such events and disseminate such information in society.
