A student of the School of Medicine passed an internship at the Department of Neurosurgery of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

On August 1-31, 2017 at the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo, the student of the School of Medicine, the Head of the Student Scientific Society, Olena Delich, passed an internship at the Department of Neurosurgery on the program of the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA).

The University Clinical Center was established in 1866 in Sarajevo by Topal Osman Pasha. Today, there are 6 specialists, 4 residents and 1 sub-specialist in the field of cerebrovascular neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery of the clinical center of Sarajevo.The Department is designed for 42 patients, it has 2 operating rooms, equipped with neuronavigation, mobile computer tomograph, operating microscopes, etc.

During the internship, Olena had the opportunity to assist in surgery for subdural hematomas, multifocal caverns, glioblastomas, intervertebral hernias, meningiomas, etc. She mastered the skills of intubation, lumbar puncture, intraventricular injection, etc. During the internship, Olena became a co-author of two scientific works.
