On April 19, 2017, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with representatives of The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) held the first National meeting on issues of immunization and medical reform «Quality of education on immunization. Medical reform and students". The event was held on the eve of the European Immunization Week. Students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Anastasiia Uzlova, Iryna Redina ta Viktoriia Kucherenko were invited to the meeting. The event was also attended by heads of Student Self-Government and activists from 16 medical higher educational institutions of Ukraine. The moderator of the event is Ekaterina Bulavinova, medical expert of UNICEF in Ukraine.
During the meeting, attention was focused on the need to reform the health care system; the participants were acquainted with the perspective directions of the medical reform and took part in the discussion of the programs and proposals. Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Pavlo Kovtoniuk, New Zealand sociologist Warren Feek, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Oleksandr Linchevskyi spoke at the meeting. The students had an opportunity to discuss all, take part in the discussion of the most actual problems and talk with the acting Minister of Health of Ukraine Uliana Suprun and her deputies.Broadcast of the meeting can be viewed on the web-pages of the Ministry of Health and UNICEF on the links (link №1, link №2).
The final words were made by the acting Minister of Health of Ukraine Uliana Suprun. This part of the meeting was held in the form of free communication, during which U. Suprun asked many questions to students and gave answers to counter-questions. Summing up the meeting, U. Suprun expressed her gratitude to the representatives of all medical higher education institutions who took part in the meeting, and continued her communication with the students.
