Students from Poland have had an internship at the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University

From February 14th to February 21th, 2016 at University of Kharkiv four students from Poznan (Poland) have been had an internship in the framework of the exchange program of medical students between the public association "Ukrainian Medical Students Association" (UMSA) and Polish non-governmental student organization SASA Foundation. The internship was at the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of the School of Medicine at the State Establishment "Institute of General and Emergency Surgery of NAMS of Ukraine" under the leadership of head of department, Doctor of Medicine, Professor I. V. Belozerov.

Students from Poland took part in the medical and diagnostic manipulations, assisted in the operations, inspect the clinical cases in one of the best diagnostic and treatment institutions of Kharkiv. Polish students have named theinternship period as an invaluable experience that will certainly help them in their future practice.

UMSA members organized the cultural program, during which students from Poland got acquainted with Ukrainian culture, visited the museum, exhibitions, theaters and gladly spent free time in Kharkiv.

At the end of practice, students from Poland, together with the head of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, Doctor of Medicine, Professor I. V. Belozerov and representatives of the organizing committee of the UMSA met with the President of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Academician of NAS of Ukraine, corresponding member of the NAPS of Ukraine, Professor V. S. Bakirov, who noted the importance of such programs and the high level of exchange organization and awarded participants of exchange programs with memorable gifts.

"We are developing cooperation with international organizations. Due to close cooperation with our colleagues from Poland and from other countries, as well as the support of the university and school administration, and departments managers, students of our school have the opportunity to get the internship in many European countries", - Vice-President of UMSA, student of 6th year of the School of Medicine E. O. Nazarenko said.
