On December 15, 2022, a meeting of the "Medical Genetics" section was held as part of the XIX international scientific conference of students, young scientists and specialists at the School of Medicine of Karazine University. Students, young scientists and professors from Kharkiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk took part in the work of the section.
The report on the recent launch of the neonatal screening program "New system of neonatal screening in Ukraine" as a huge event in the life of our country was presented by the head of the working group of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on the implementation of the neonatal screening program, the head of the laboratory of medical genetics of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDYT" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, doctor of biological sciences, professor N. V. Olkhovych.
The participants of the meeting discussed the problems and prospects of neonatal screening, analysis of genetic pathology, genetic research in the programs of assisted reproductive technologies, assessment of genetic features of SARS-COV-2 and the development of further fruitful cooperation.
All scientists thanked the organizers of the Conference, the School of Medicine and the Karazin University for its successful holding and joint interesting work. The speakers dedicated their speeches to relatives and colleagues who defend our country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thanks to whom scientists have the opportunity for further work and development.
