On behalf of the administration, scientific and educational staff and students community of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University this letter is addressed to candidates for the post of the President at the elections scheduled on May 26, 2021 calling for mutual respect, understanding, tranquility and dignity in the course of the electoral race. Behavior demonstrated by one of the candidates is deemed to be inadmissible, claiming long-standing head of Karazin University, academician V. S. Bakirov of allegiance to one of the candidates and negative attitude to the other ones in order to appeal against V. S. Bakirov’s worrying about the future of the university and at the same time damaging image and reputation of the entire Karazin Society.
Having been working as President of our university for many years, academician V. S. Bakirov hasn’t given a single rise to cast doubt on his honor and dignity, unprecedented devotion to the university and his work, while Karazin University hasmade a huge leap into the future, having become classic university of the 21st century and internationally acknowledged scientific and educational center.
With deep respect and gratitude for years of selfless work we support academician V. S. Bakirov in the current situation. As the biggest school of Karazin University we reaffirm the authority of academician V. S. Bakirov, understand his worrying about the future of the University and we’re fairly certain that his actions are impartial, transparent, legal and honest.
Once again we urge the candidates for the post of the President of Karazin University to keep from claiming each other and other members of our society, but, in contrast, to support the spirit of academicism, respect and politeness, which always has been a part of Karazin society.
