Successfully completed international internship in neurosurgical department of Canton Hospital Zenica by our student

From 12th to 30th August, 2019, Olena Delich, 6th year student of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, had the opportunity to undergo an international student internship at the neurosurgical department of Canton Hospital Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

The department is working on the treatment of intracranial and spinal tumors in adults and children, disorders of the cerebrospinal fluid in children, compression neuropathies and peripheral nerve injuries, as well as surgical and conservative treatment of head and spine injuries.

The operating room of the neurosurgical department is equipped with a representative of the new generation of microscopes - Zeiss Pentero.

The most important part - a team, which includes 3 specialists, headed by the Director of the Canton Hospital Zenica - Prof. Rasim Skomorts and the Head of the neurosurgical department - Dr. Aldin Yusic; and residents.

Olena took part at surgeries, participated in the admission and examination of patients, became acquainted with the principle of functioning of the unit, the filling of medical records, the principles of therapy for neurosurgical patients. She also received a book "Tumors of the Central Nervous System" written by hospital's doctors as a gift from the team.
