Student of School of Medicine successfully completed her internship program on neurosurgical department in Bosnia and Herzegovina

During two months a student of School of Medicine, Head of the Students` scientific society - Olena Delich got an internship on neurosurgical department of the Clinical center of University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Thanks to the team of neurosurgical department, Olena had the opportunity to get acquainted with their methods of neurosurgical treatment: microdiscectomies, resections of the micro-, macroadenomas of the pituitary gland and intracranial tumors by using neuronavigation, clipping of cerebral aneurysms, implantation of the baclofen pump.

From 21^st to 24^th June Olena took a part in neurosurgical session of congress “Days of Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Science” (BHAAAS). Moreover, she had a presentation "The influence of dietary factors in CNS plasticity" during III International students` congress "Food-Nutrition-Health", which was held on 5^th-7^th July.

We are grateful to the staff and head of the neurosurgical department dr. Haso Sefo for sharing their unique experience and knowledge with our student!
