On April 16-18, 2018 students of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in the 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Medical Genetics which was held on the basis of Kharkiv National Medical University.The format of the Olympiad included the analysis of karyotypes of patients with hereditary diseases and the solution of interesting genetic problems. The jury of the Olympiad included experienced geneticists, instructors of medical educational institutions, heads of scientific and practical circles and chief doctors of genetic clinics.
The School of Medicine at the Olympiad was presented by the students of the 5th year Olimdzhon Kodirov, Anastasiia Vinohradova and Alina Tsomina, which were trained for the Olympiad by the Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Doctor of Biology, full professor O. M. Fedota. After the end of the Olympiad, students visited the laboratories of the Medical Genetics Center, took part in the cultural program with a visit to the iconic places of Kharkiv.
