On May 24, 2017 a meeting of the student group of the Department of General and Clinical Pathology of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was held, in the course of which the topics of helminthiosis - parasitic diseases of humans, animals and plants caused by helminths - parasitic worms were discussed. Reports were made by students Iryna Serashova ta Demian Rudyk. The reporters focused their attention on flat worms, representatives of the Trematodes and Tape Worms (Cestodes). It was noted that the pathogenesis of helminthiases is based on the sensitization of the organism by products of metabolism and disintegration of parasites, as well as mechanical damage to organs and tissues.
Both the appearance of parasites and the damage they were able to inflict on the organs and tissues of human were considered,this meeting was held in the oldest in Ukraine Museum of Nature of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. After the meeting the students made a short excursion around the museum.
