On April 28-29, 2017 on the basis of Karachev emergency substation competitions took place between the emergency teams of medico-prophylactic institutions and medical higher educational establishments of Kharkiv region to provide emergency and urgent medical services during “The Open Championship of Kharkiv Region”. The team of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University composed of instructors of the Department of Surgical Diseases, Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy B. V. Hil'ov and V. Y. Mehera and students D. S. Hrechanyk (VI-509) and Y. O. Kul'huskina (VI-314) with the support of Kharkiv regional organization of the International Committee of the Red Cross of Ukraine took part in competitions.
The conditional roles between the team members were distributed as follows: V. Y. Mehera - physician of the ambulance team, B. V. Hil'ov - driver of the ambulance car, Y. O. Kul'huskin - paramedic of the ambulance team, D. S. Hrechanyk - aid-man of the ambulance team. The teams competed in the technique of carrying out of medical manipulations, accuracy of the diagnosis, practiced skills and scheme of action in emergency situations with a large number of victims, demonstrated the technique of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, etc.
The team of the School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University demonstrated the high level of knowledge of theoretical material and practical skills, medical professionalism and ability to act urgently under unusual circumstances.
The administration and the scientific and pedagogical staff of the School of Medicine express their gratitude to Kharkiv regional organization of the InternationalCommittee of the Red Cross of Ukraine for their help in preparing the team for the competitions, as well as to the instructors and students who represented the school in the competitions of such a high level!
