The School of Medicine of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is among the top three universities in Ukraine according to the SciVerse Scopus rating

Scientometric monitoring of subjects of scientific and publishing activity of Ukraine on indicators of the SciVerse Scopus database was carried out by the Publishing Service "URAN" by order of "Osvita.ua". On the basis of this, the rating of Ukrainian higher educational institutions is compiled. The School of Medicine as a part of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University entered the rating and took the second place among 136 higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

The rating results of higher education institutions are based on the Scopus database, which is an instrument for tracking the citation of scientific articles published by the school and its employees. The Scopus database constantly indexes more than 20,000 scientific journals and hundreds of book series. In the rating table the higher educational institutions of Ukraine are ranked according to the Hirsch index - the quantitative indicator, which is based on the number of scientific publications and the number of their citations.

Scientists of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, including the School of Medicine, have published more than 8,000 scientific works, indexed in the scientometric Scopus database, and the number of citations of these works exceeds 40,000. As of April 2017, the index of Hirsch of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is 60, which is 3 points higher than in 2016 (57) and indicates that University scientists published 60 articles, each of which has been cited at least 60 times.
