On April 18-19, the XXІ International scientific conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists “Topical Issues of Modern Medicine” was held online.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tetyana Lyadova solemnly opened the conference and welcomed the participants from different parts of the world: «It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our annual XXI international scientific conference "Current issues of modern medicine". This event is a significant event for our faculty, providing an opportunity to remember the achievements of the past, assess the current state and discuss future prospects. Today we have gathered together to celebrate our achievements and share the results of our own research and discoveries in medicine. This conference brings together researchers, doctors, students and everyone who wants to contribute to the development of medical science. Over the past thirty years, the Faculty of Medicine of Karazin University has turned into a center of medical knowledge and innovation, producing hundreds of highly qualified specialists who provide assistance to people around the world. Holding such events is an important tradition of our faculty, and we are proud that, despite the difficult circumstances of today and military aggression by the Russian Federation, our students, teachers and young scientists were able to actively participate in this event.
Doctors played a significant role in the history of Ukraine, Kharkiv and the university. Their contribution to the development of medicine and science is undeniable. Many streets and institutions of Kharkiv bear the names of outstanding medical university professors who made a significant contribution to the development of medical practices and scientific research. These names have become symbols of professional excellence and innovation in medicine, and their legacy remains relevant even today. Modern graduates of the faculty continue this tradition, proving themselves as excellent clinicians and scientists not only in Ukraine, but also far beyond its borders. They implement modern methods of treatment and research, contributing to the improvement of people's health in different parts of the world.
The geography of the papers presented at our conference spans the globe, highlighting the global impact of our science. Our students and scientists, in my opinion, are the heroes of our time. We are proud of the fact that you work for the benefit of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, engage in science, volunteering, and provide medical care.
I wish you bright impressions, meaningful discussions and inspiration that medical science gives. I hope that these days of interaction will be fruitful, stimulate new research and contribute to the introduction of innovations in medical practice. This event can be the beginning of new partnerships and friendly relations between the participants.

Advanced research and innovative approaches to modern challenges in the medical field were presented at the conference. Participants shared their research and conclusions on issues of modern medicine at an international forum.
The XXІ International scientific conference of Students, Young Scientists and Specialists “Topical Issues of Modern Medicine” of medicine became a platform for active discussion and cooperation between young scientists and specialists.

Due to the possibility of unexpected power outages, participants were given the opportunity to send a video recording of their presentation in case they were unable to attend in person.
About 150 abstracts based on the results of own research were submitted for the conference.
The Medical Faculty of Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin is very grateful to the organizers for their dedicated work, and of course, grateful to all participants from every corner of Ukraine: Kyiv, Poltava, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Uzhhorod, etc. And also to distinguished guests of foreign medical universities. Many thanks to all those who joined the conference in such difficult times, when, despite the lack of light, lack of time and danger, everyone is working for the future of medicine and science.
