Students of the School of Medicine - participants of the training "HIV Prevention: "Safety Route"

On April 2-3, students of the 3rd and 4th year of the School of Medicine of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Taisiia Sazonova, Yuliya Zhadan and Veronika Shepel attended the training “HIV Prevention: The Safety Route” as an interactive form of preventing the spread of HIV among young people”. The event was organized by the Office for Family and Youth Affairs of the Department for Family, Youth and Sports of the Kharkiv City Council in cooperation with the German Government Company “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (GIZ).

The purpose of this training was to prepare participants for the further dissemination of information about HIV: the HIV epidemic in Ukraine, to study facts about risk groups, the mechanism for conducting HIV testing, the consideration of modern antiretroviral therapy. The game “Safety Route” was presented to participants of the training.

In the future, the participants of the training plan to use this knowledge in practice during the implementation of projects within the framework of the activities of the local representative office of the NGO “Ukrainian Medical Students’ Association” at the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the university program "Students’ Health".
